The Process

Pre-Production
This is where we lay the foundation. Before a single note is recorded, we refine the vision, locking in the sonic direction, references, and key elements that will shape the track. It’s about making the right choices early so the production process is smooth, intentional, and focused.

Production
This is where we build the world. We put down the "bed" the entire track is going to sit on, shaping the core groove and feel. Then, we layer in the elements textures, melodies, and dynamics ensuring everything serves the song and enhances the emotion behind it.

Refinement
The final 10% of the production that makes all the difference. This phase is about dialing in the details—polishing arrangements, tightening performances, and finessing the sonics. Every decision is made with purpose, ensuring the track hits with clarity, impact, and intention.

Mix & Master
The final stage is where your song takes its full shape. In mixing and mastering, every layer is refined, balances are perfected, and dynamics are carefully shaped for maximum impact. I am with you through the entire process, making sure the finished track captures your vision with clarity and power.

I’m Duncan Reid, a Toronto-based music producer, mixing engineer, and multi-instrumentalist with over a decade of experience helping artists bring their creative visions to life. With a Bachelor’s degree in Music from Humber College and a deep foundation in recording and producing music, I’ve honed my craft across diverse genres, from Top 40 pop to indie, folk, and country.
In my work, I specialize in crafting polished, impactful mixes and productions that resonate with listeners, combining technical expertise with a strong sense of musicality.
